The SCOA H&G Committee received 2 awards at the AKC CHF National Parent Club Conference poster contest, resulting in $$$ for the SCOA CHF Donor Advisory Fund! You can see these posters at our booth at the SCOA National.
Caroline Coile, a liaison to the SCOA H&G Committee, has been honored with the 2008 AKC CHF Research Communication Award in NYC awarded during Westminster KC weekend
SCOA and the H&G Committee are proud to announce funding for two Canine Health Foundation research grants to study Hemangiosarcoma! Active Grant No: 593A, "Mapping Genes Associated with Canine Hemangiosarcoma". A bi-annual progress reports will be given to the Saluki Fancy
The SCOA H&G Committee has sponsored an AKC DNA Clinic at the last 3 National Specialties at a 25% reduced rate and the H&G Committee has negotiated with the AKC to collect and bank our Country of Origin salukis for future registration purposes. Again this year the cost will be $30.00
The SCOA H&G Committee has award-winning articles expressly written for and about the saluki by Dr Casey Gonda, and Dr Caroline Coile. Some of these articles have been nominated for, or won, The Dog Writer's of The Year Award!
The SCOA H&G Committee continues to review grant proposals and will make recommendations to the BOD for funding support.
The SCOA H&G Committee has an information table with handouts and educational materials at every SCOA Regional Specialty as well at many supported entries. We also have educational materials available to all clubs free for the asking!
Support the SCOA CHF Donor fund - make a donation, and AKC will match it 100%! These donations will help to support breed specific studies conducted by the AKC CHF with bi-annual updates. You may read about these studies here:
