Volunteers It takes a lot of people working for a long time to make the Saluki National the showcase it has become. We’re extending an invitation for you to be a part of the largest gathering of Salukis in the world. If you only have a little bit of time available, you can help to clean up under the show tent one afternoon. If you have more time, maybe you could sit ringside and sell catalogs. No offer to help is too small (or too large!) Below are descriptions of the various jobs and what is involved. If any of these endeavors is tailor made for you please contact Monica Stoner at tsent@ix.netcom.com Thank you in advance. Chief Ring Steward/Steward Coordinator Supply ring stewards for Conformation, Obedience, Rally each day. SCOA policy is two stewards for the conformation ring. Work with Futurity and Obedience chair to ensure all venues will have sufficient experienced stewards. Chief Ring Steward can not show, per AKC rules. Steward Coordinator can show as long as they do not go into the ring except while showing. Silent Auction (Mary Jane needs helpers) Solicit items for auction. The Silent Auction generally contains an eclectic mix of items, from kitchsy to very collectible. Organize items, write up bid cards. Monitor bidding. Collect funds, turn over to Treasurer. Live Auction (Need helpers) Solicit items for auction. The live auction is for items of greater value, often original artwork or very rare. Those items donated in advance will be featured on the website, and will be displayed prior to the auction. An auctioneer during the event plus several people to hold up items and collect funds. Friday evening after the COO Exhibition. Turn funds over to Treasurer. Wine and Cheese Social (Need helpers) Wine, Cheese, Crackers, Fruit at ringside on Friday evening, during COO Exhibition.
